Privacy Policy — CPP Prep

Effective date: July 27, 2026
Product: CPP Prep (iOS / iPadOS)
Bundle identifier: CPP.ASIS-CPP-Flashcard

This Privacy Policy describes how the CPP Prep mobile application (“CPP Prep,” “the app,” “we,” or “us”) handles information. It is written to match the app’s current implementation: an offline study aid that stores progress on your device and does not intentionally collect or transmit personal information.

Publish this document at a stable public HTTPS URL, then set that URL in ASIS CPP Flashcard/Content/ReleaseConfig.swift as privacyPolicyURL before App Store submission.

1. What CPP Prep is

CPP Prep is an independent study aid for security professionals preparing for the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) examination. It provides flashcards, practice questions, mock exams, bookmarks, notes, and local progress tracking.

CPP Prep is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by ASIS International. It does not contain official or leaked examination questions and does not guarantee examination results.

2. No account required

You can use CPP Prep without creating an account, signing in, or providing a name, email address, or other profile information to the app.

3. Information we do not collect

Based on the current source code and project dependencies, CPP Prep:

Apple’s App Privacy Nutrition Labels and the app’s privacy manifest (PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy) reflect that tracking is disabled and that no data types are declared as collected for transmission.

4. Information stored on your device

CPP Prep stores study-related information locally on your device (using on-device storage such as UserDefaults) so the app can function offline. Depending on how you use the app, this may include:

Personal notes

If you enter text into notes, that content remains on your device. Notes may contain whatever you type, including information you consider personal. CPP Prep does not upload notes.

5. Deleting your data

You can remove locally stored study progress using Reset all progress in Settings (preferences such as theme and daily goal may be retained as described in the in-app confirmation).

Uninstalling CPP Prep removes the app’s local data from the device, subject to normal device backup and restore behavior (for example iCloud or computer backups that may retain app data until those backups are deleted or expire).

6. Internet use and third parties

CPP Prep is designed to operate offline for studying. Downloading the app from the App Store, installing updates, and other Apple platform services are provided by Apple and are governed by Apple’s privacy policy and terms. CPP Prep does not control Apple’s systems.

If you later open a Privacy Policy, Terms, or support link from Settings, that action uses the device’s normal link-opening behavior to reach the destination you tap.

7. Children

CPP Prep is intended for adult professionals preparing for a professional certification exam. It is not directed at children.

8. Changes to this policy

If CPP Prep’s data practices change (for example if a future version adds accounts, cloud sync, analytics, or support tooling that processes personal information), this policy will be updated and the effective date will change. Material changes should be reflected in App Store privacy disclosures as required.

9. Contact

For privacy questions about CPP Prep, use the support contact published with the live policy page and in App Store Connect once the developer has configured a monitored support email or support URL in ReleaseConfig.

Until that contact is published, do not treat placeholder addresses as valid contact methods.

This document is provided for publishing the app’s privacy policy. It is not legal advice. Consider having counsel review it before App Store submission if your circumstances differ from the offline, local-only implementation described here.
